Superman: The Black Ring is a storyline in Action Comics (Volume 1), set in the aftermath of Blackest Night. It is the penultimate Superman arc of the Post-Crisis continuity, alongside Reign of Doomsday, prior to Flashpoint and the subsequent The New 52 reboot.

Synopsis

After having becoming an Orange Lantern, Lex Luthor's power-hunger skyrockets, as he becomes desperate to attain godhood by concocting his possibly greatest (and apparently final) evil scheme to unleash and bond with the personification entity the Phantom Zone to finally best Superman.

Notes

  • This story arc happens concurrently with Reign of Doomsday.
  • For the duration of this storyline, Lex Luthor became the lead character of Action Comics.
